The Community Closet is a program providing free donated clothing and household items to needy persons and families throughout Tucson and Pima County. Dozens of supporting agencies and congregations of faith participate in our referral system which allows them to distribute vouchers to their most needy population. Participants include Aviva Children's Services, Emerge!, Voices Against Violence, and some local churces. You can call Information and Referral Services at 881-1794 for a complete list of these participating agencies and congregations. Or click on this link to view the list of referring agencies. If you are an agency or congregation of faith and would like to participate please click here.
The following are words of grateful consumers: " We came here in 02/1/09 and were robbed of everything. Thanks to you we have some clothes! We got our truck back in 3 days. It has been an experience going through this but the police has caught them. We just have to pray and trust GOD. Thank you so much for being there for us" Some of our participating agencies had this to say: "We love the fact that we can use the vouchers for household items as well as clothing" "The prices are fair and there is a great variety which offer a great opportunity for a good deal!"
We need your support if we are to continue this great program. Community Closet is looking for donors to help provide new bedding (or almost new), clothing, and general household items. Community Closet relies heavily on the community's donations. TMM accepts donated items at the administrative office, 3127 E Adams St, or at the ReStore, 2938 East 22nd Street. The ReStore also has a truck that can pick up large amounts or heavier items. Please call the ReStore to schedule a pick up at 326-1936. If you would like to make a monetary donation, please click here. TMM accepts all major credit cards through PayPal. (You do not need to have a Pay Pal account to use Pay Pal) |
