The Community Closet is a program of TMM Family Services that provides free donated clothing and household items to those in need through a referral voucher system-involving dozens of supporting agencies and congregations of faith. Since 1985 TMM Family Services (formerly known as Tucson Metropolitan Ministry) Community Closet has been providing clothing, bedding, and household items to individuals referred to the Closet by Tucson Social Service Agencies and local Churches.
Enrollment in the program allows you to refer individuals and families to the Closet, so they can receive free items and to purchase other items at a very low cost. Most agencies and churches choose to enroll in the Closet program, because the fee is very low and it enables your agency or church to refer families to the Community Closet for their clothing and bedding items. In addition to the free items that your clients receive there are other items modestly priced which can be purchased at the same time. (Government surplus clothing and bedding items can not be sold.) The number of free items your client receives is dependent upon funding for this program, and on available inventory.
For more information about enrolling in the Community Closet please contact Heidi Hernandez at 520-322-9557.
