TMM is honored to announce that we have been chosen as the July recipients for the Journal Broadcast Group Community Partner of the Month. Last November 2008 Journal Broadcast Group - Tucson Operations, which operates 94.9 MIXfm and local TV stations KGUN 9 and KWBA, announced a community partnership project that will donate over $1.5 million annually in media value to local charitable organizations. The announcement was made by Bobby Rich, Director of Community Partnerships of the Tucson Operations. “It has been my goal to use our airwaves to strategically make a difference in the community,” said Rich. “Journal Broadcast Group has always made supporting charitable organizations in each of its markets a priority. By combining the efforts of each of our Tucson stations, we can coordinate to bring an even greater awareness to the needs and solutions available in our area.” Beginning in January 2009, one organization will be selected each month as the Journal Community Partner. A comprehensive media campaign will be created utilizing all Journal Broadcast Group properties to bring needed awareness for those charitable organizations that provide services and resources to the Tucson community. “As a broadcast group I believe we can do even more than entertain and inform. It’s our responsibility to effect change by nurturing and supporting our community,” Vice President/General Manager of Tucson Operations Julie Brinks explained.
