TMM operates a transitional housing program named Family Journey. Family Journey focuses on single moms with children who truly desire to live independently in a reasonably short period of time. The program teaches independent living skills with ongoing professional support and guidance to facilitate the process. The purpose of entering the Family Journey program is to use this short term, transitional residency to "get on with life". The moms set short and long term goals with their TMM caseworker. Upon completion of these goals, the women will be better prepared to obtain an independent residence and lifestyle with no further need to reside on TMM's campus.

TMM Family Services serves women who strive to be chemically free of all addictive drugs. TMM is a smoke-free and drug-free campus.

Family JourneyPersonal Story

This story starts off on a sad note, with a mother and child in a precarious and difficult situation. For many weeks this woman felt she had no one to go to for help. She felt isolated, depressed and frightened. At last a friend from a faith community referred her to TMM Family Services.

With her child , this brave woman rebulit her life while in the sheltering sanctuary of our mid-town campus. She and her child were safe. They had a pleasant, affordable place to live, and care and guidance from TMM's Family Journey staff. She found a good job, reliable childcare, and an opportunity to rebuild.

We use the past tense in speaking about this courageous woman, because she is no longer a resident here. She was recently promoted to a better paying position outside the Tucson area. Her  congregational family helped her with a car and furniture, and we were able to send her off with the tools necessary to begin a new chapter in her life.
