The ReStore was opened in 1999 in a like-new 12,000 sq. ft. warehouse located on the southwest corner of 22nd Street & Country Club. The store was originally a collaboration between TMM Family Services and Habitat for Humanity, however, in 2001 TMM became the sole administrator of the ReStore. The ReStore sells building and home improvement materials to the general public at prices up to 80% lower than retail costs. By shopping at the ReStore, the customer is not only saving money but is also helping disadvantaged individuals within the Tucson community. All proceeds of the ReStore directly benefit TMM’s non-profit programs.
The ReStore maintains its extensive inventory of home improvement items & supplies through the generosity of Tucson’s local businesses, individuals, national retailers, and religious based organizations.
In 2013 and 2014, TMM’s ReStore teamed up with the University of Arizona’s ENACTUS club to renovate and re-merchandise the ReStore and its inventory. The group is made up of students from both the business and retail colleges and has a mission of using the power of entrepreneurial action to transform lives and shape a better, more sustainable world. The volunteer efforts of the group achieved great success along with the assistance from both the Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and Sam’s Club.
