TMM’s Community Closet sells new and slightly-used clothing to the community at extremely low prices in addition to providing free clothing and bedding to Southern Arizona's most needy individuals and families.
The Community Closet has been in existence since 1985 and acquires its inventory through the very generous donations made by individuals and retail businesses throughout the area. Items include clothing, shoes, and accessories for men, women, children, young adults, and babies. The Community Closet also strives to have options of work clothing and school uniforms for its customers and clients available as well.
In addition to being open to the public, the Community Closet provides free clothing and bedding to the community's most disadvantaged individuals through its Voucher Program. The program partners with numerous social agencies, governmental institutions, churches, and religious-based communities who become members through an application process and nominal fee. The membership includes 100 vouchers, and the organizations have the freedom to distribute them to their clients at their discretion. The clients are then able to redeem the vouchers at the Community Closet for free clothing & bedding of their choosing. In order to receive the free items, a person must have a signed voucher from a member organization. Some of the member organizations are Arizona Children's Association, El Rio Community Health Center, Emerge! Center Against Domestic Violence, Grace St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Interfaith Community Services, La Fronterra, Reachout Women's Services, Southern Arizona AIDS Foundation (SAAF), and the Tucson Indian Center.
The Community Closet is located on the ReStore property at 2958 E. 22nd Street (one block west of Country Club on the south side of 22nd).
The hours of operation are Monday - Friday, 9:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
